New Location for VNA's Mobile Unit

VERO BEACH, Fla. (Jan. 21, 2008) -- Beginning on Monday, Jan. 21, VNA's "Health Care on Wheels" mobile unit will begin offering service on Monday afternoons, Thursdays, and Saturdays at the Wal-Mart Supercenter located at 5555 20th Street in Vero Beach. However, due to upcoming construction at the Sam's Club site, the mobile unit was relocated to provide continuing service to Indian River County residents. The VNA mobile unit offers a variety of healthcare services for Indian River County residents. The staff provides care--such as tetanus shots and treatment for minor cuts, bruises, infections and other non-emergency care--free of charge for sick patients without health insurance or a private physician. Wellness care--such as physicals, immunization boosters and health screenings--is also available as a convenience for any Indian River County resident for a nominal fee.

Care is provided on a first-come, first-served basis; however, sick patients are given priority over those needing wellness care (i.e., physicals). For children to receive care, their legal guardian must accompany them. For more information about mobile unit services, call 772.567.5551.
