VERO BEACH, Fla. – (February 5, 2009) –The Visiting Nurse Association of the Treasure Coast is pleased to announce that Karen Bolle, RN, BSN, CHPN, CHA has been selected as the organization’s new Director of Hospice Services.
“We are excited about Karen joining our team here at the VNA of the Treasure Coast,” said Jim Newbrough, President and CEO of the non-profit organization. “Her experience and expertise in end-of-life care will be a great addition to our wonderful VNA Hospice program.”
Bolle brings to the VNA more than 25 years of clinical, educational and managerial experience in hospice and other healthcare settings. In her new role, Bolle will be responsible for the management and direction of all aspects of the VNA’s hospice program. Prior to joining the VNA, she served as the Director of Patient Care Services at Hospice Care in Downey, CA, where she provided leadership, education, and development of the staff and medical directors.
In addition to working at Hospice Care, Bolle previously worked at Ramona VNA and Hospice in Hemet, California as the Hospice Program Director. Prior to moving to Vero Beach, Bolle worked for hospice companies in Texas, Alabama, Florida and Ohio. She also traveled nationally providing continuing education to healthcare professionals, speaking on issues affecting care at the end-of-life.
“My hospice career began as an RN providing hands on care to patients and families,” explains Bolle. “From the minute I started my job, I knew where I was meant to be, which is exactly how I feel about my new role with VNA Hospice. I look forward to utilizing my experience and passion for hospice care to help develop our program and continue the long-standing tradition of excellence which is associated with the VNA’s hospice program.”
Bolle received her bachelor’s degree in Nursing at the University of Southern Mississippi and has obtained many additional licenses and credentials.
