VERO BEACH, Fla. (March 7, 2007) – VNA Hospice will host the Hospice Foundation of America’s 14th annual teleconference, “Living with Grief®: Before and After the Death,” on Thursday, March 22 from 1:30 – 4 p.m. at the Richardson Center on the Indian River Community College Mueller Campus, 6155 College Lane in Vero Beach.
Each year the Hospice Foundation of America presents a nationally recognized distance-learning program, live via satellite and webcast, to more than 125,000 people in 2,000 communities. For more than a decade, this annual educational program has been instrumental in educating health care professionals and families on issues affecting end-of-life care. This year’s teleconference—moderated by Frank Sesno, Professor of Media and Public Affairs at The George Washington University and Special Correspondent with CNN—will include a panel of noted authorities who will explore the most current theoretical perspectives on loss and grief as experienced by persons throughout a life-limiting illness and by survivors after the death. A local discussion will follow the national broadcast.
The teleconference is free and open to the public. Complimentary copies of the advance directive booklet Five Wishes will be available. CEU credits are available for a wide range of healthcare professionals. For more information or to reserve a spot, call Carolyn Amaral at 772.978.5558 or Michelle Jordan at 772.978.5535.
