VNA Gears Up for 17th Annual Golf-A-Thon

Vero Beach, Fla. – (March 14, 2007) –The 17th annual Golf-A-Thon benefiting the Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice Foundation is teeing off for the 2007 event.

The Golf-A-Thon is slated to take place on May 1 at Pointe West. Pros from 12 different area clubs will volunteer their time to play as many holes of golf as possible from 7 a.m. until dusk. Community members and corporate sponsors pledge a dollar amount for each hole their favorite pro plays or sponsor a tee, green, or cart.

Last year, the event raised more than $165,000, which went toward providing charity home health and hospice care to individuals and families within Indian River County.

Co-chairmen for the event are Marilyn Wurzer and Judi Bradley. The participating pros and their clubs include: Pat Gorman of Bent Pine Gulf Club, Frank Mentzer of Grand Harbor Golf Club, Phil Leddy of Hawk’s Nest Golf Club, Joe Kern of Indian River Club, Patrick Berry of John’s Island Club, Tom Thornton of The Moorings Club, Rich Waage of Orchid Island Golf Club, Mark Cammarene of Pointe West, Steve Archer of Quail Valley Golf Club, Bob Gruber of Riomar Country Club, Randy Hedgecock of Vero Beach Country Club, and Matthew Challenor of The Windsor Club.
