VERO BEACH, Fla. (Mar. 16, 2007) – The VNA recently announced that its “Healthcare on Wheels” mobile unit will begin operating at 8:30 am on Tuesdays to better serve the Sebastian area. The mobile unit schedule is now as follows:

VNA's mobile unit offers same-day medical attention at convenient locations throughout Indian River County. Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners on board the unit can examine, diagnose and prescribe medications for minor, non-urgent illnesses such as upper respiratory infections, sore throats, earaches, and minor cuts. There is no charge to residents of Indian River County who cannot afford health insurance or the services of a private physician. The unit also offers all Indian River County residents cholesterol screenings as well as school, sports, and work physicals for a nominal fee. Patients are seen on a first come, first-served basis and in order to be treated must arrive no later than 30 minutes before the clinic ends.
