VERO BEACH, Fla. (April 19, 2006) – The Visiting Nurse Association Health Care on Wheels mobile unit schedule will change beginning Thursday, May 4. The mobile unit will now be stationed all day at the Sam’s Club parking lot, 5565 20th St. in Vero Beach, from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursdays, with a break for lunch from noon to 1 p.m.
The mobile unit is also stationed at the following locations:
- Monday, 8:30 a.m. to noon, Oslo Road and 20th Avenue; 1-8 p.m., Sam’s Club Parking lot, 5565 20th St.
- Tuesday, 1-8 p.m., Riverview Park, Harrison St. in Sebastian
- Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. to noon, Oslo Road and 20th Avenue; 1-8 p.m., VNA parking lot, 1110 35th Lane in Vero Beach
- Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., VNA parking lot, 1110 35th Lane in Vero Beach (lunch break from noon – 1 p.m.)
- Saturday, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., Fellsmere Community Center, N. Broadway Street in Fellsmere
The mobile unit is available for tetanus shots, minor cuts, bruises, infections and other non-emergency care. Mobile unit services are available free of charge to residents of Indian River County without health insurance or a private physician. School, work and sports physicals, tetanus shots and tuberculosis tests are available for a nominal fee for all Indian River County residents. Patients must arrive 30 minutes before the clinic ends to be treated.
