VERO BEACH, Fla. (May 17, 2005) – The Visiting Nurse Association of the Treasure Coast has enhanced its agency Web site, http://www.vnatc.com. The new site offers added functionality allowing users to review an in-depth calendar of events and make online donations.
“The calendar of events is a great new resource for visitors to access the most current information about VNA activities in the community,” said Kristine Woolley, business development manager. “On any given day, the VNA has three to four health-related events open to the public. From blood pressure/blood sugar screenings to support group meetings to mobile unit locations, this comprehensive list of activities will give visitors an opportunity to learn more about the many VNA health care resources available to the community.”
Designed by Melbourne-based Artemis Technologies, the Web site also accepts online credit card donations through its secure server. Donors can chose the type of gift they would like to make – general donation, memorial/honorarium or special event contribution.
“We’re thrilled with this new capability,” said Kerry Bartlett, chief fund development officer. “Online giving provides an added level of convenience to the donor, who can access the Web site 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We anticipate it will be especially useful to out-of-town donors seeking to make a gift in memory of a loved one.”
As with donations received over the phone or through the mail, the online giving process is secure and confidential, and a gift acknowledgement letter for tax purposes is mailed to the donor.
The new Web site also enables the VNA to track usage on a daily, weekly or quarterly basis. Information such as page statistics, flow of traffic and origin of visitor is available.
“This tool will help us continue to enhance the site,” said Woolley. “By identifying which pages are most visited and what information is sought, we can maximize the site’s effectiveness as an agency resource.”
As with the previous Web site, visitors can still access information on all VNA & VNA Hospice programs and services, current agency news and job opportunities. Additionally, e-mail links put users in direct contact with staff members who can answer questions.
