VERO BEACH, Fla. (June 23, 2005) –Visiting Nurse Association Nurses will be honored on the field at Holman Stadium on Thursday, June 30 at 7 p.m. as “Neighborhood Champions” for their “exceptional dedication and service to the community.”
The award will be presented by Bank of America and Minor League Baseball. The commitment of VNA nurses to serving the community, especially during the hurricane season, made them a top pick for the recognition. Nurses at the VNA provided non-stop care during hurricanes Frances and Jeanne at the special needs shelter. One third of the employees worked more than 4,000 hours voluntarily to care for weak, debilitated patients. The
VNA was Indian River County’s first, and remains its sole, non-profit home health and hospice agency. For more information about our services, visit www.vnatc.com or call (772) 567-5551.
