Dr. David Becker Joins VNA of the Treasure Coast Board of Directors

VERO BEACH, Fla. – (August 30, 2007) – The VNA recently welcomed David Becker, M.D. to the VNA and Hospice Foundation Board of Directors.
 
Becker is a retired cardiologist and has resided in Vero Beach since 1978. He has been a Florida-licensed physician since 1956 and is American Board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease. He was an active staff member of Indian River Memorial Hospital from 1978-1985 and is now an honorary staff member.
 
Dr. Becker previously served on the VNA of the Treasure Coast board in the 1990’s and held the positions of president and campaign chair of the United Way of Indian River County and chairman of the Cultural Council of Indian River County. He currently serves as a town councilman of Indian River Shores. Dr. Becker’s medical expertise and wide array of community involvement will add new perspective and knowledge to the board.
 
The VNA provides community- and home-based healthcare services, including skilled nursing care; home health aides; physical, speech, and occupational therapy; as well as companions and personal transportation for seniors. The non-profit organization also provides community wellness services such as flu and pneumonia immunizations, free monthly blood pressure/blood sugar screenings, and a community speakers bureau. The VNA is also the only licensed hospice provider in Indian River County.
