VNA ACCEPTS 35TH ANNIVERSARY PROCLAMATION FROM CITY OF SEBASTIAN

SEBASTIAN, Fla. – (August 24, 2010) –Representatives from the VNA of the Treasure Coast received a proclamation from the City of Sebastian on Wednesday, August 11,  at a City Council meeting. The Proclamation was awarded in celebration and commemoration of the VNA’s 35th Anniversary as a non-profit healthcare agency in Indian River County.

The proclamation was read aloud by Sebastian Mayor Richard H. Gillmor and received by the VNA’s President/CEO, Joyce Baldrica, and Carol Kanarek, the Chairman of the VNA & Hospice Foundation Board.

The proclamation praised the agency for its long history, opening its doors in 1975 as the first home healthcare provider in the county, and remaining to this day as the only non-profit home healthcare provider in the county.

Gillmor was surprised at the number of patients served last year by the VNA’s healthcare professionals. Through the combination of their home health, hospice, and community wellness services, the VNA served over 20,000 patients in 2009.

The agency also accepted a 35th Anniversary proclamation from the City of Vero Beach at the August 17th Vero Beach City Council meeting.
