VNA Seeking Volunteers for Tree of Remembrance Celebration

In preparation for its 18th annual Tree of Remembrance program, VNA Hospice is seeking volunteers to assist with coordinating the event at the Indian River Mall. For those who wish to help, there will be a meeting on Thursday, November 13 at 10:00 a.m. at the VNA office building, 1110 35th Lane in Vero Beach.

The Tree of Remembrance, which begins November 18 and runs through December 24, allows area residents to honor the memory of loved ones by penning their thoughts on an angel card and hanging it on the tree. These memorial cards become a part of the VNA Hospice’s biannual Ceremony of Remembrance.

The Tree of Remembrance program also helps raise funds to provide hospice care for patients in Indian River County who face a life-limiting illness.  This year, VNA Hospice is offering dove, angel, butterfly or heart ornaments to those who contribute $15 or more. In 2007 over $10,100 was raised through donations to the Tree of Remembrance and the sale of the hospice ornaments.

If you are interested in volunteering for this event, please contact Kathy Stogner at 978.5592 to reserve your spot. For more information about the Tree of Remembrance or VNA Hospice, call 567.5551 or visit www.vnatc.com
