VERO BEACH, Fla. – (October 26, 2009) – The Visiting Nurse Association of the Treasure Coast is pleased to announce that James Manahan II has been selected as the organization’s Chief Financial Officer.
“I am delighted to be a part of a very dedicated leadership team at the VNA of the Treasure Coast, and look forward to the opportunity to apply my experience and knowledge for the benefit of such a laudable organization. Working for the VNA is a gratifying experience. We endeavor to improve the lives of those in our care in the most cost-effective setting in the healthcare spectrum, the comfort of ones own home, because home is where the heart is. I feel fortunate to be working for the VNA, because I have grown to know that homecare is where my heart is,” says Manahan.
Manahan brings to the VNA more than 20 years of financial, accounting and managerial experience, beginning his career as a tax analyst. In his new role, he will be responsible for overseeing the VNA’s fiscal operations and financial reporting and will provide management and direction for the organization’s finance department. Prior to joining the VNA, Manahan served as the Chief Financial Officer with the Franklin County Home Healthy Agency in St. Albans, Vermont for fourteen years, where he provided leadership, program development, and finance knowledge to the staff and management team.
In addition to working at Franklin County Home Health, Manahan’s experience also includes serving as the Business Manager at Ogden Industrial Services in Essex Junction, Vermont, where he managed several positions and prepared all periodic financial reportings. Prior to moving to Florida, Manahan also assisted statewide VNA’s and state agencies in Vermont with program development and analysis of legislative initiatives.
Manahan earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Lyndon State College and received his Master’s of Business Administration at the University of Vermont.
“I am pleased to have someone with Jim’s background and talents join our organization. He understands home health and hospice, and is a wonderful addition to our leadership team at the VNA,” says VNA President & CEO, Jim Newbrough.
