VERO BEACH, Fla. (Nov. 4, 2005) – With the recent cancellation of numerous flu clinics throughout Indian River County and south Florida, the Visiting Nurse Association of the Treasure Coast reminds residents they can still get their immunizations at local VNA clinics.
“Many South Florida residents who were displaced after Hurricane Wilma are now staying in our community. Because we’re one of the only agencies offering flu clinics, these residents can help protect themselves against the flu by getting their immunization at one of our local clinics,” said Sharon Broome, VNA president and CEO.

The VNA administers vaccinations to anyone 18 and older; flu vaccines are $31 per dose; pneumonia vaccines are $44 per dose. There is no charge for people who present a Medicare or Health First HMO Medicare card at time of immunization.
