VNA Offering Free Caregiver Training Seminar

VERO BEACH, Fla. (Nov. 2, 2005) – VNA Hospice is celebrating National Family Caregivers Month by offering a free caregiver training class Nov. 15 to teach family caregivers ways to cope and where they can go for help with respite.

According to the National Family Caregivers Association, more than 50 million people provide some form of care giving service annually. More than half of those people provide an average of 20 hours of care per week.

“The caregiving seminar offers an opportunity for people in the community to realize that they are not alone in their hardships,” said Lana Taylor, VNA social services manager. “Participants can learn new ideas and share some of their own experiences to help each other care for their loved one better.”

The caregiver training seminar is scheduled for 1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 15 at the VNA & Hospice Foundation boardroom, 1155 35th Lane, Suite 203. To reserve a spot in the class, please call (772) 978-5559. For more information about VNA Hospice services, visit our hospice page or call (772) 567-5551.
