VNA Hospice Hosting Volunteer Training

VERO BEACH, Fla. (Nov. 7, 2006) –Looking for a rewarding volunteer opportunity and a chance to make a difference in other people’s lives? In conjunction with National Hospice Month, VNA Hospice is hosting a six-day training seminar at the end of November and December for new volunteers.

Through the training sessions, participants will learn about the valuable role hospice serves in the community, and the various volunteer opportunities available to help care for patients and their families during their most difficult times. Seminar participants will join a team of more than 350 dedicated and caring volunteers.

Training dates are Nov. 28 and 30 and Dec. 7,8, 11 and 15; classes will run noon - 4 p.m. in the first floor conference room at the VNA offices, 1110 35th Lane. There is no charge to attend; however, reservations are required as space is limited. For more information or to reserve a space, call Tracey Soethe at (772) 978-5553.

Volunteers are also needed at the VNA Hidden Treasures resale boutique and for the 16th annual Tree of Remembrance that will be held this year at both at the Indian River Mall and VNA Hidden Treasures. These volunteers do not need to complete the training seminar to begin volunteering and both serve as a good opportunity for volunteer hours for teenagers in school.
