VERO BEACH, Fla. (Nov. 16, 2005) –Looking for a rewarding volunteer opportunity and a chance to make a difference in other people’s lives? Due to Hurricane Wilma, VNA Hospice has rescheduled its six-day training seminar for new volunteers to Nov. 29 through Dec. 9.
Through the training sessions, participants will learn about the valuable role hospice serves in the community, and the various volunteer opportunities available to help care for patients and their families during their most difficult times. Volunteers are also needed for clerical work at the VNA offices and at the VNA Thrift Avenue retail store. Seminar participants will join a team of more than 300 dedicated and caring volunteers.
Training dates are Nov. 29 and 30 and Dec. 1, 2, 7 and 9; classes will run noon - 4 p.m. in the first floor conference room at the VNA offices (1110 35th Lane). There is no charge to attend; however, reservations are required as space is limited. The class is not limited to people who signed up for the previous training in October. For more information or to reserve a space, call Tracey Soethe at (772) 978-5553.
