VNA Welcomes New Vice President of Hospice Services

The Visiting Nurse Association of the Treasure Coast is pleased to announce that Kathy Parker, RN, has been selected as the organization’s Vice President of Professional Services for its hospice program.

“We are excited about Kathy joining our team here at the VNA of the Treasure Coast,” said Jim Newbrough, President and CEO of the non-profit organization. “Her experience and expertise in end-of-life care will be a great addition to our wonderful VNA Hospice program.”

Parker brings to the VNA more than twenty-five years of administrative and managerial experience, leadership, and patient care, having started her career as a nurse. In her new role, she will be responsible for the management and direction of all aspects of the VNA’s hospice program.
Prior to joining the VNA, Parker served as the Executive Administrator with Southerncare Hospice in Birmingham, Alabama, where she provided leadership, program development, and patient-centered care to the staff and management team.

In addition to working at Southerncare Hospice, Parker’s experience also includes serving as the Lead Case Manager of Wellpointe, Inc. in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she developed a case management program for high-risk patients. Parker has also served in management and administrator roles for United Healthcare, Inc., Clarian Health Partners, Inc., and Preferred Home Care, all located in Indiana.

Parker earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University and is currently working toward completion of her Master of Nursing degree from the Indiana University Purdue University at Indianapolis.
