Vero Beach, FL — The Visiting Nurse Association of the Treasure Coast recently announced that President/CEO James Newbrough will be stepping down on January 4th after sixteen months with the organization.
Newbrough will be relocating back to Ohio along with his wife and children in order to be closer to their parents and extended family. “The decision to leave Vero Beach was very difficult,” said Newbrough, “because of the wonderful people that make the VNA so special and the great community that has been so very welcoming. I was not with the VNA long enough to leave a legacy, however I do believe that I have made significant changes that will prepare this organization for a bright and prosperous future.”
VNA Board Chair Peggy Cunningham echoed Newbrough’s sentiments. “Everyone at the VNA is saddened to see Jim leave,” she said. “Under his leadership we have strengthened our financial position, we have implemented a cutting-edge electronic medical information system, and we were recently recognized as one of Indian River County’s 2009 Best Places to Work. Jim truly will be missed by our associates and our boards of directors.” Cunningham explained that the organization’s board of directors has hired an interim CEO—Ron Barrera of Simione Consultants—in order to provide business continuity until an Executive Search Committee can complete the search for a new President / CEO.
