What is planning giving?
Planned Giving is all about supporting your favorite causes with the thoughtfulness and foresight to include charitable organizations in your estate planning. A planned gift is simply a gift that is planned ahead of time and can range from a simple bequest to a complex charitable trust. Planned gifts are not only extremely important in funding the charitable efforts of non-profit organizations, but can also be very beneficial to you, the donor, as well.
Why leave a planned gift for the VNA?
Planned Gifts are often directed toward long-standing charities with solid reputations of carrying out their mission with passion and integrity. The VNA was founded in Vero Beach in 1975, with the mission of responding to the community’s needs for home healthcare and related services. The VNA now provides home healthcare and community wellness programs assistance to more than 20,000 people each year through nursing visits, our mobile health unit, flu shots, health fairs and seminars. Hospice came under the wing of VNA in 1986, allowing us to provide a continuum of care for patients with a life-limiting illness. At any given time, we have 80-100 patients under our care in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, the VNA Hospice House or their own homes. Planned Gifts, along with donations and other support, allow us the unique and most worthwhile ability to welcome all patients, regardless of their financial resources. In fact, for more than thirty years, the VNA has never turned away a patient in need due to financial resources.
A planned gift can provide you with the following benefits:
Increased current income for you or for someone else
Reduced income tax
Avoidance of capital gains tax
Transference of assets to your family with less tax cost
A legacy of care
