Joyce Baldrica
President / CEO
Joyce joined the VNA in July, 2010. She brings to the VNA more than twenty years of executive, financial, and leadership experience in the healthcare industry. Prior to joining the VNA, Joyce served as Vice President of St. John Providence Health System’s east region in Detroit, Michigan, where she was responsible for implementing the organization’s strategic agenda, pursuing new business development opportunities, and managing the system’s quality improvement program. In addition to working at St. John Providence Health System, her experience also includes serving as the President of St. John Home Care in Clinton Township, Michigan, where she led and coordinated initiatives to improve overall quality of care and developed new clinical programs to meet the needs of the community. Joyce earned her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, and received her Master’s degree in Management at Walsh College in Troy, Michigan.
Mary Jane Davis
Vice President of Professional Services, Home Health
Mary Jane joined the VNA in September of 2007 following relocation to the Treasure Coast. In March 2009 she accepted the position of Manager of Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement. Mary Jane brings sixteen years of home health experience to her new role, including eleven years in senior management, most recently as Director of Quality Assurance in the south Florida area. She graduated from Indiana State University with a BS in Nursing. Her new role and responsibility provides the opportunity to work in partnership with agency-wide leadership to identify and monitor key performance indicators, create an environment for needed change with the goal of assuring a consistently high level of performance across the organization.
Rosalie Webster
Vice President of Human Resources & Education
Rosalie, the newest addition to our team, brings to the VNA more than fourteen years of HR support, employee relations, and managerial experience in human resource positions for large companies. In her new role, Webster will be responsible for the management and direction of all aspects of the VNA’s human resource and education departments. Prior to joining the VNA, she served as the Human Resource Director at Senior Resource Association in Vero Beach, where she provided leadership, support, and recruitment. In addition to working at the Senior Resource Association, Webster previously worked at Musa Holdings, in Florida, as the Human Resources Director, where she took a one year project to revamp HR functions and enhance department and company performance. Rosalie earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Montclair State University. She has also earned certification as an SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources).
Sarah Mondano
Vice President of Business Development & Sales
Sarah is responsible for operation of our intake/referral center, coordination of our hospital and community liaison activities, medical record keeping, clinical / financial evaluation of patient referrals, management of referral data, and medical coding. She is a nurse by training, having earned her nursing degree from Duke University. Sarah has been involved in healthcare business development, sales, and marketing for over twenty years. She is a life-long resident of Vero Beach and has close relationships with many local physicians and healthcare providers. Sarah will be adding her expertise to grow the agency’s business as well as oversee the customer service initiative.
Karen Ritchie
Vice President of Professional Services, Hospice
Ritchie brings to the VNA more than fourteen years of development and managerial experience, leadership, and patient care, beginning her career as a nurse. In her new role, she will be responsible for the management and direction of all aspects of the VNA’s hospice program. Prior to joining the VNA, Ritchie served as the Martin County Division Director with Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart, Florida, where she provided leadership, program development, and patient-centered care to the staff and management team.. Karen has also worked as the VNA’s weekend patient care manager since January 2010, where she supervised and mentored staff, and was responsible for the coordination of care for patients. Ritchie earned her nursing degree at St. Joseph’s College, Patchogue, NY and received her Master’s of Nursing at the University of Phoenix.
Michael Gardner, APR
Vice President of Marketing & Communications
Michael is responsible for leading our agency's marketing and communications team, which is tasked with marketing, public and media relations, corporate communications, operation of our VNA Hidden Treasures resale boutique, and the operation of our community wellness programs. Michael earned his BA in English and a technical writing minor from Penn State University, and he holds an MA in Publications Design from the University of Baltimore. His background includes public relations, communications, business development, marketing, and program management in a variety of industries, including: consulting engineering/architecture, research and development engineering, water quality, printing, micrographics, and analytical equipment. He serves as Board President of AARP Chapter 219 in Viera, Florida and is a member of the Florida Public Relations Association. He is Accredited in Public Relations by the Universal Accreditation Board.
Wendy O'Neil
Vice President of Foundation
Wendy is our most recent addition to the VNA. She brings over thirty years of development and leadership experience to the VNA. In her new role, she will be responsible for the managment and directions of all aspect of the VNA & Hospice Foundation, the fundraising arm of the non-profit. Prior to joining the VNA, Wendy served as the diector of Insitutional Development at the Applachain School of Law in Grundy, Virginia. There she established a development program that included annual giving, planned giving, major gifts, special gifts, corporate giving, and foundation giving. In addition, she also worked as the director of development for the Vanderbuilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee where she raised over twelve million dollars for the Vanderbuilt School of Nursing. Wendy earned her Bachelor's Degree from Catholic University in Washington, D.C.
Allison Downing
Director of Nightingale Private Duty Nursing
Allison joined the VNA in 1990 as a Case Manager for our private duty patients. In 1993, she became involved with the development of the VNA's "Shoo the Flu" immunization program. During the past several years, Allison has also been responsible for the day to day operations of our Health Services department, including developing our Friends With Wheels companion program. Allison also serves as our agency's Employee Health Nurse, responsible for managing our employee Workers' Compensation program. She is also responsible for operation of our community wellness programs, including no-cost monthly blood pressure/sugar screenings and immunization activities. Most recently, Allison was promoted to Director of Nightingale Private Duty nursing. She is currently working to consolidate all of our organization's private duty services under one roof.
Kathy Orton
Director of Regulatory Compliance
Kathy is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the VNA’s compliance programs including activities related to regulatory oversight at both Federal and State levels, agency accreditation by the Joint Commission, and licensure. She is also responsible for helping to educate VNA associates about pending and current regulatory changes. Kathy earned her nursing degree from Fitchburg College in Massachusetts. She also holds a Master’s degree in healthcare administration from Kennedy Western University. She is also a licensed Risk Manager.
Linda Shelby
Director of Professional Services, Brevard County Home Health
Linda joined the VNA over fifteen years ago working in our intake department. In 2001, she was promoted to Director of Professional Services in our Space Coast office, which provides home care services for residents of central and southern Brevard County. Linda is currently responsible for daily Space Coast operations by providing administrative oversight of clinical activities and financial management.
Kerry Cosner
IT Manager and Information Security Officer
Kerry is responsible for managing the information systems team and ensuring the company's computer network and telecommunications systems continue to operate successfully. Kerry joined the VNA in 2006 as the IT Manager and Information Security Officer with more than fifteen years of experience in information security and computer science. His previous experience includes supervising IS operations at the Indian River Memorial Hospital for over ten years and working as a small business owner of Cosner's Farm and Grove Supply, Inc., serving as manager and accountant. Cosner is a graduate of several south Florida colleges and universities including Tampa Technical Institute, Morris Business College, Brevard Community College, and Indian River State College.
Catherine Slate
Patient Account Manager
Catherine joined the VNA in 2000 as an administrative assistant to the chief financial officer. Over the past ten years, she has been promoted to several positions related to billing, and in January 2010, Catherine was promoted to her current position, Patient Account Manager. In this new position, Catherine is responsible for reviewing the revenue cycle and accounts receivable for all VNA companies, working closely with both clinical and finance staff. Catherine is a 1982 graduate of the University of Central Florida, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and finance. In the past, she has served as a substitute teacher for the St. Lucie County School Board, a human resources clerk for Symphony Home Care Services, and an inventory clerk at Indian River Foods.
Mary Blumstein
Director of Finance
Mary first joined the VNA in 2001 as the Director of Finance. In 2004, Mary moved to the foundation department and worked part time as an accountant in order to spend more time at home with her newborn child. In August 2010, Mary was promoted to the Director of Finance position a second time. As director, her responsibilities include supervising all general accounting functions such as accounts payable, purchasing, general ledger, and payroll, as well as managing the company budgets, audits, creating and updating financial statements, and making financial reports to the company's boards and committees. Mary is a Vero Beach native who graduated from Vero Beach High School in 1981 and received a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of Central Florida in 1985. Mary also earned a Master of Business Administration in management from Webster University in 1994. Mary's previous work experience includes serving as a financial analyst, controller, and chief financial officer for five years at a doctor's clinic as well as several finance and accounting positions at Hill-Rom Services, Inc. in Charleston, South Carolina.
