The VNA and Hospice Foundation is the recent recipient of a donation from the 50/50 Club at the Isles of Vero retirement community located in Vero Beach. The 50/50 Club presented the foundation with a check for $500 at their monthly meeting this past July. Throughout the year, 50/50 Club members participate in a drawing where fifty percent of the proceeds are collected throughout the year to be donated to two local, non-profit organizations. For 2017, club members chose the VNA and Hospice Foundation, and the Humane Society of Indian River County.
VNA and Hospice Foundation Vice President, Kerry Bartlett, CFRE, MBA, attended July’s meeting to accept the donation. “VNA Hospice touches so many lives in our community and helps to make a sad and challenging time a bit easier through a holistic and caring approach focused on patient needs and caregiver concerns,” Kerry said. “Our friends at The Isles of Vero have developed such a creative and fun way to support local nonprofits that have impacted them personally. VNA Hospice is honored to be selected as a recipient of their caring generosity. Our patients and their families are grateful.”
The VNA and Hospice Foundation empowers the VNA to serve all patients in need, regardless of their financial resources. A non-profit organization, the foundation relies on community support to provide charity care services to those in need throughout Indian River County. Through money raised from friends, neighbors and community partners like the residents at The Isles of Vero, the VNA and Hospice Foundation is able to fund critical programs, continuing education, best practice initiatives and technology and provide support for caregivers and the bereaved.
