    VNA & Hospice Foundation Board

    Kathie has been practicing service and sharing from a very early age. As a candy striper she learned about healing. Today, as a volunteer fundraiser for the VNA, she makes healing possible. Kathie was instrumental in acquiring a transformational gift that helped to start the VNA Hospice House Endowment Fund soon after the house was built in 2000. Since 2003, Kathie has served on the VNA & Hospice Foundation Board of Directors and has served as many leadership roles including chairman of the Annual Appeal, Memorial Paver and Donor Relations committees as well as serving as vice chairman of the board.

    Rob is an attorney at the commercial law firm Dean Mead in Viera; he practices in trust and estate planning. Prior to joining the Board of Directors for the VNA Space Coast, Rob served on the Planned Giving Committee for the VNA & Hospice Foundation. In addition, he has also served the Boy Scouts of America and the Planned Giving Council of Indian River County. Rob received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Florida, graduating with honors for both.

    VNA of the Treasure Coast Board; VNA of Indian River County Board

    Currently serving as Vice President and Senior Financial Advisor for Merrill Lynch in Vero Beach, Sue began her career in the financial services industry in 1985. Serving in executive positions with Barnett Bank and Harris Private Bank, her background includes corporate and personal banking, trust and estate administration, investment management, charitable planning, and financial strategies. Sue earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut in 1985.  She has earned the designation of Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and holds a Series 7, Series 66, and Health, Life and Variable Annuities licenses.  Sue has done graduate and continuing education work in the field of accounting and financial strategies.

    Sue has made Vero Beach her home since 1986, where community service has been an integral part of her life.  In addition to serving as a co-chair for the United Way campaign in 2016, she is the past President of the United Way of Indian River County, Impact 100, and the Education Foundation of Indian River County.  She currently serves on the board of the VNA and Hospice Foundation of Indian River, VNA of the Treasure Coast, and the Indian River Community Foundation.  She is the past President of the Treasure Coast Chapter of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and a member of the Planned Giving Council of Indian River County and the Estate Planning Council of Indian River County. In 2014, Sue was the recipient of the Pinnacle Award in Indian River County for demonstrating excellence in charitable planning.  Originally from Newtown, Connecticut, Sue and her husband Chris have lived in Vero Beach since 1986, and have two children, John and Ben.

    Susan Marzano

    VNA Hospice of Indian River County Board

    Susan Marzano is an Ohio native and longtime kindergarten teacher. She served on the board of Hospice of Central Ohio, Licking County Drug and Alcohol Prevention Program, Camp O’Bannon and the Twentieth Century Club. In 2012, Susan and her husband became full time Vero Beach residents. In Vero Beach, Susan volunteers at the Gifford Youth Achievement Center and VNA Hidden Treasures thrift store; she currently serves on the VNA’s Treasure Coast board and is chairman for the VNA Hospice board of directors.

    Susan has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and master’s in education from Ohio University. She is married to Scott Marzano, and they have two children and two grandchildren.
