Twelve golf pros came together May 8th at Vero Beach Country Club to support a worthy cause – VNA and Hospice Foundation’s 27th Annual Golf-A-Thon. Each golf pro, representing a local country club, committed to play approximately 135 holes throughout the day. Over 1400 club members and community supporters made donations in support of these pros, resulting in a record breaking amount of $333,000 raised to benefit home health, hospice and community wellness services for local residents who are un- or under-insured, and without the financial resources to care for themselves.

“It’s a privilege to be included in Golf-A-Thon,” responded Vero Beach Country Club Head Golf Pro, Randy Hedgecock, when asked why he feels it is important to take part in the event. “I have played in all of them except the first one, and you really gain insight into the cause you are supporting. Often I hear from members and people in the community who have used VNA services, they say the people at VNA are angels.”

Local golf clubs represented were: Pointe West Country Club, Windsor Club, The Moorings Yacht & Country Club, Bent Pine Golf Club, Vero Beach Country Club, Indian River Club, Quail Valley Golf Club, Grand Harbor Club, Sandridge Golf Club, Riomar Country Club, Orchid Island Golf Club and event host, Vero Beach County Club.
