VNA Hospice understands that response to treatment or therapy is individualized and that what works for some might not be as effective for others. This is why we also offer alternative forms of comfort therapy for our hospice patients.
One of the main goals of our hospice program is to provide comfort to our patients suffering from a terminal illness. Alternative therapies are drug-free forms of comfort care that relieve common physical ailments and have been shown to have both physical and psychological benefits.
Comfort therapy can help improve the quality of life by alleviating symptoms of pain and providing relaxation and comfort.
Our hospice patients benefit from:
- Music therapy
- Massage therapy
- Animal-assisted therapy
If our patients need something more than the standard options for therapy, one of these alternative forms of comfort therapy may be the solution.
