Beverly SmithDirector of VNA & Hospice Foundation
As a twelve-year veteran of the VNA & Hospice Foundation, Smith is well suited to fulfill her role as the organization’s leader. In her new role, she will be responsible for the management and direction of all aspects of the VNA & Hospice Foundation, the fundraising arm of the non-profit. Smith began her career with the VNA & Hospice Foundation in 2006, working in an administrative role, eventually taking on additional, more event-focused responsibilities. She was recognized for her tremendous leadership skills and promoted to a management position. Smith earned her Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) accreditation in 2015 and most recently acted as the organization’s Director of Donor Relations.
Dan BachChief Financial Officer
Dan has more than twenty-five years of financial experience in the healthcare industry, with the last 13 being in the home health and hospice industry.Before joining the VNA, Dan resided in South Carolina, where he served as the CFO for Medical Services of America, a multi million-dollar private medical services business, operating dozens of home health, hospice, private duty and medical equipment locations in multiple states. Simultaneously, Bach served as a board member for Hospice Care Charity Foundation, coordinating and participating in fund raising events, preparing annual regulatory and tax reporting and overseeing balance of funds and approving disbursements. Dan is a two-time alumna of Ohio State University. He received his Bachelor’s degree as Summa Cum Laude of the honors program in 1986 and his Master of Business Administration in 1988.
Kathy OrtonVice President of Clinical Services /Chief Regulatory Officer
Kathy is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the VNA’s compliance programs including activities related to regulatory oversight at both Federal and State levels, agency accreditation by the Joint Commission, and licensure. She is also responsible for helping to educate VNA associates about pending and current regulatory changes. Kathy earned her nursing degree from Fitchburg College in Massachusetts. She also holds a Master’s degree in healthcare administration from Kennedy Western University. She is also a licensed Risk Manager.
Lundy FieldsPresident and CEO
Lundy Fields comes to the VNA with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California and an MBA in Finance from the University of South Carolina. Lundy has served in leadership roles with several healthcare and pharmaceutical companies, bringing to us a unique talent of building teams to deliver excellence and growth. As a force for excellence and change across the medical industry, he has driven innovation and services, advising investment firms and healthcare conglomerates on medical technologies including wound therapy, orthopedic implants and surgical gloves. Lundy, as he and his wife, Kit, have deep roots in Vero Beach and returned back to our community several years ago. His energy and passion for the mission of the VNA, his background in management and leadership, and his engaging personality make him a perfect fit to lead our organization.
